Spider & Thread Vein Treatment

Spider and thread veins are small veins  that individuals can feel are unsightly and embarrassing.

Spider veins are a group of dilated veins that appear close to the surface of the skin and look like spider webs, or tree branches. They are usually red, blue or purple. Although they can develop anywhere, they are most common on the legs and face. Spider veins are smaller than varicose veins, but they are sometimes located together. The most obvious sign of spider veins is their web-like appearance on the skin.

At Serenity there are a few treatments to help!

IPL Skin Rejuvenation

Intense Pulsed Light utilises the benefit of yellow light in a variety of wavelengths flashed over the red veins. The blood in the capillaries is heated in milliseconds. Once the red veins have been covered they will flush red around the general area showing that the capillary walls have been damaged. Gradually over the next two – six weeks the capillary breaks down and the body’s lymphatic system will remove it. To treat the capillaries, it is best to have a course of about three – six treatments with treatments being four weeks apart.
IPL Skin Rejuvenation (Capillaries) - £90 / £225
The Ellipse IPL Skin Rejuvenation treatment for capillaries costs just £90 per session with a course of three treatments costing £225.
IPL Patch Test & Consultation - £25
The IPL patch test needed before any skin rejuvenation treatment costs £25 which is redeemable against the  treatment.

Advanced Electrolysis

Advanced Electrolysis is good for small red veins that are very near the surface of the skin – for example on the cheeks and around the corners of the nose. An electrolysis needle is a very fine metal filament that is gently dotted along the length of the capillary. Often, they can disappear immediately and then continue to break down under the skin over the next few weeks. Both of these methods are best for small red capillaries – not the blue or purple ones. We always recommend a course of treatments for best results. Because the capillaries are a physical thing in the skin there is always a chance the skin can grow new ones in the future, so some people may require some maintenance treatments after a few months.
